2. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.3. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.4. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.5. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?6. Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?7. Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation. Psalm 85:2-7 🙏🏻 The psalmist speaks prophetically of the time of Christ. Where God took the iniquity of the people and covered their sin in His blood. This being done God's wrath was taken from the people and laid on Christ at the Cross. Christ came to turn us from destruction and death, and give us eternal life in Him. Only a dead person needs to be revived. It is the mercy of God in Christ that restores the dead in sin, to life everlasting. This is the promise of God, that Christ died for us, our pardon guaranteed. Now we should live for Him. Amen.
