47. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.48. And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.49. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:50: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. Mark 6:47-50 ππ» As you read the verses, understand Christ's concern for His disciples. Rowing in a raging wind, but not gaining any headway, much like the storms of life that beset us. Christ begins a walk on the water, tossed, by gale force winds, a distance of more than 3 miles. And seeing Him and thinking He was some form of apparition, they feared for their safety. And as they cried out, immediately, He says Be not afraid. We have nothing to fear from the Son of God, for Jesus cares for us, as He cared for His disciples. They is no storm that can defeat the One who created the earth and it's weather. And there is no storm in this life where Christ will leave us to bear it alone. Amen.
