Dear David,
It’s hard with an election around the corner, but let’s put the politics to one side for the moment and take a clear-eyed look at China.
China’s communist regime is the biggest threat to Australia’s freedom, security and prosperity since World War II.
This is an aggressive nation that has threatened our country with missile attacks.
It has hit our farmers with unfair trade bans and tariffs, arrested Australian citizens and interfered in our democracy.
Just last week, ASIO revealed it had disrupted an attempt by a “puppeteer” businessman to control an election outcome by funnelling campaign cash to Labor candidates.
If this isn’t a cold war, what is?
Even though ADVANCE has been raising the alarm for years now, there have been just a notable handful of politicians willing to stand up to the CCP.
They include Defence Minister Peter Dutton, Assistant Defence Minister Andrew Hastie and Liberal Senator James Paterson.
On the Labor side, Senator Kimberley Kitching has shown some guts this week by naming in parliament the billionaire she believes is responsible for the plot ASIO took down.
But where are her Labor colleagues?
They have been missing in action.
So much so that the CCP’s mouthpiece The Global Times this week publicly backed Anthony Albanese.
They reckon Albo “positively shines” compared to the “clown” Scott Morrison and “will be a safe leader”, especially compared to Dutton, who they labelled “rabidly anti-China”.
And this is where things get political.
Morrison and Dutton piled on the opposition, even calling Labor deputy leader Richard Marles a “Manchurian candidate” (a puppet of an enemy power).
But the Liberals haven’t always had cleanest hands when it comes to China.
Don’t forget the Port of Darwin was sold to a CCP-controlled company on their watch.
As we get into election silly season, there’s one truth we can’t forget.
Australia cannot afford weak leadership.
You have to ask yourself, why is it that China’s communist regime would prefer Labor in power?
And does Anthony Albanese have the ticker to stand up for you against Beijing when the heat is on?
