34. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.Matthew 12:34-37 Jesus is rebuking the religious leaders, calling them vipers, liking them to a creature filled with poison. They had just finished saying, Jesus cast out evil spirits, by the power of Satan. Such clear evidence, they did not know Christ. The good man is the regenerated man, the Spirit, working to sanctify, set apart from the world. This man will speak of what great things God has done. The evil, is as he was born, worldly, carnal, destitute of the Spirit, corrupt by nature, bound for destruction. Jesus came that we may have eternal life, and escape the punishment we so richly deserve. Maranatha, come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen
