I don't have any definitive info about climate change, but I just don't want to have a scenario like 1900's NYC where they piled horse crap up 3 stories high in vacant lots. Have you seen the smog in Indian cities lately?
The climate change / all electric isn't about pollution, it is about control of distribution. And, depopulation isn't about caring for the ecosystem, it is about rebuilding a failed feudal globe.
There is a proactive and equable way to pull us all through this, however; we need to become a 'steam punk' planet, with LNG as our primary fuel. The first step in this is to change -1- protocol in the utilities structure: "free trade for clean generated electricity", charging -only- according to the size of the cable(s) to the property.
This change (to retail sale rate) would allow for small farm loans that automatically pay themselves back, this very low interest rate. Since the wind don't blow, and the sun don't shine all the time the farmer would supplement it with a low pressure to heat LNG steam turbine that vents into a terrarium for reprocessing of the co2 and water.
We can do the same for transportation. All the change there is to cook the crude differently into LNG and a high carbon sludge. Everyone gets paid, the economies stabilize. Population control is proactive in that (in extreme situations) "If you want the clean farm and food for life, get a vasectomy.
One more thing; if the Artic ice is melting, we need to keep the tech skills strong to be able to harvest the methane ice before it goes!

The universe is made of 98% hydrogen. Electrolysis is simple and splits the molecules of water at a mere 1.5V (think "AA battery"). In fact, the combined gases (Brown's gas) can be directly burned like this. The fighter plane "Bingo fuel" in WWII worked this way. Or you can recombine them in a PEM c... View More
