1. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:1-4 πŸ™πŸ»
Jesus is led into an unpopulated area, to be tried by Satan, before entering His ministry.
Christ experienced the inner temptations of heart and mind, day and night for forty days, now He feels hungry.
Satan, comes to Him in a visible form, and as he tempted Eve with food, he tries the same method on Christ.
Now see how deceitful he is, he says (if) your the Son of God, he knows that Christ is, for when He was baptized by John, he heard the Father, declare, how pleased He was with His Son.
Also, Satan, recognizes, Christ's authority to command, and that He had power, as the Creator, to change stones to bread, which had never happened before.
Christ responded to Satan, that He as a man, did not depend on bread, seeing the Father had sustained Him, for forty days and nights, before He felt hungry. And that the stones did not need to be changed, for the Father, could have rained down manna from heaven, like He did before.
Satan's attack, has been rebuked, by Christ's faith in the Father, and the Word, of God.
We all should do likewise, for sin does not leave by wishing, it leaves in battle, by trusting God, and His Word, which is Christ, God in the form of man.
Amen, Hallelujah.
