11. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. 17. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Revelation 2:11 & 17ππ» These two verses stand out in this morning reading. These are Christ's words, He that overcomes, meaning we have obligations to preform, not earning our way, but through the love of Christ, our obedience, proves, that we belong to Christ, we are more than conquerors, in Christ our Victor, and the reward is eternal life. Each of us has stumbling blocks, trying to prevent us from reaching the finish line, on the narrow road, through Christ, we are able to overcome all. Both verses, begin with, he that has an ear, we hear, to learn, but beyond hearing we must obey, the reward is not for those who miss the mark, but for those who are sold out for Jesus, who are grateful for His mercy, pardon, grace, these cannot be bought, only received, and the rewards, are given by Christ, for He suffered more in this world than we ever will. And He was faithful. Amen.
