1. Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;2. That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lust of men, but to the will of God.3. For the time pass of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:4. Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same exces of riot, speaking evil of you:5. Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 1 Peter 4:1-5 ππ» Christ suffered in our place, crucified for our sins, the just, for the unjust. And as He suffered for us, we are to do likewise for Him, for His cause, His Gospel, we being dead to sin, should live unto righteousness. Not that by our righteousness we could gain access to Salvation, but that because of Christ's love for us, we should be obedient to His ways. Leaving behind the old nature, and putting on the new nature, of Christ, Him being our example. For before Christ we walked in all the sins of the ungodly. But now we are separated, drawn by the Spirit, to live a different life, unto holiness, without holiness, no man shall see the Lord, Hebrews 12:14. And all who refuse, shall give an account, to the Righteous Judge, who will judge the living, and the dead. Amen, Come quickly Lord Jesus.
