On October 29, 2010, Matthew Christopher Chew was stabbed to death. Matthew was on his way home from work when a group of six attacked him. According to the statements, Idris Elahi, Rashad Perry, and the other four had been watching TV together when something on the screen got them "hyped" to the point that they decided to find a random person to assault. Rashad dared Idris to stab their victim, and so he did once they had chosen Matthew and began beating him. Court documents indicate that the underlying reason why they killed the 25-year-old White man was "because they were bored."
