For standard 5% bleach this is good for storing "clean" tap water in a sealed container. Honestly, I prefer a good-quality camping filter of the 0.2-micron type. It will remove whatever pathogens are in it (but not metals). I drank the water down in Peru with this type of filter and lived to tell the tale.
