26. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27. Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.28. And they said unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?29. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him who he hath sent. John 6:26-29 ?? Christ, knowing the hearts of men, that they did not seek Him, as Savior, Redeemer, but as one who could supply their needs. Jesus, responds, that if you only work for the temporary things, you will miss the gift of God. There is labor, in spiritual things, church attendance, reading God's word, prayer, all these are good. But without the belief in Christ, they will not attain, to eternal life. Believing in Christ, is the saving faith, putting all trust, and confidence, that God sent Him, to save mankind through the Cross, and there is nothing, we can add to it. And we shall be rewarded with eternal life, for His promises are, yes, and let it be so.
