1. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
2. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
3. Be thou my strong habitation,
whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
4. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5. For thou art my hope, O LORD GOD, thou art my trust from my youth.
Psalm 71:1-5 ??
To put trust in anyone, or anything, besides Christ our Lord, is confusion, which will not lead to salvation.
It is Christ, who paid the price for sin, it is Christ who delivered us from judgment, it is Christ, who prepared an eternal home for us.
It is Christ, who covers us in His Righteousness, for by our righteousness, we can never attain, eternal life.
Those who place their hope in God, shall have a sure reward.
This word ( trust ) in this Psalm, has two different meaning, verse one, it means seeking God, as a place of safety, or refuge, verse five, it means, after being in God's protection in verse one, we now, have confidence, assurance, security, that we have put our whole being in Christ the Lord, and He shall not fail us. Amen.
