1. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6. Such knowledge is too wonderful me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Psalm 139:1-6??
God knows His own people in a special manner. Those covered by the blood of Christ, hold His special attention.
Their way is known, the details, of daily life, sleeping, waking, their very thoughts, are not hidden, from God.
This word compassest, is defined, as winnowing, as the chaff is separated from the grain, so the Lord, shakes us out, removing our unfruitful, unprofitable, unproductive, ways, and replaces them, with His own.
There is nothing we know, that God, does not, nothing we say, that He does not hear.
Where could you find a safer place? With the Lord, behind, and in front you, and His hand upon you.
The Psalmist, and myself, find this very hard to understand, but yet, it is true. This is not a blanket covering for all creation, but only for those, who have chosen, Christ as their Salvation. Amen.
