12. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:13. And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.14. And when he saw them, he said unto them, go show yourself unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.15. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,16. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.17. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? Luke 17:12-17 ?? What a lesson to be learned. Leprosy is a picture of sin, destroying flesh, as sin, destroys the soul. The ten, crying out for mercy, are told to show themselves to the priest, who will pronounce them clean. Having done nothing, but obeying the command, they find themselves healed. And only the Samaritan, who are thought to be heathens, and ungodly, returns to thank and praise, Jesus, this showing it was Christ, and not the priests, who healed them. Jesus inquires about the other nine, as His blood was shed to heal all from sin, how many of us, give thanks and praise, for the work, Jesus, did, that we could not do for ourselves. And fall at His feet, and glorify Him, who has saved us. Amen. Thank You, Jesus, for Your saving grace.
