25. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life ?26. He said unto him, What is written in the law ? how readers thou ?27. And he answering said Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.28. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shall live.Luke 10:25-28 ?? This lawyer, testing, Jesus, to see if He understood the law, Jesus, directs him to the law, asking, how he interpreted it. His answer in verse 27, if understood, if you could keep these two principles, you would break none of the commandments. The law is absolute, perfect, and with out mercy, break it, and only judgment is left. The question, "What shall I do?"the answer nothing, man can do nothing, to gain eternal life, but trust Jesus, seeing, we have already failed, by sinning, and falling short of God's plan. Jesus, is God's mercy, in the form of a man, who has paid the price of the law, which is death. All who try to gain heaven by works, shall fail, but who ever puts their trust, in Jesus, for salvation, shall live. Amen.
