4. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.6. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.7. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that there corn and their wine increased.8. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:4-8 ?? Stand in reverence and veneration, of God, and His righteousness and judgment, proceed no further in sinning against Him. Meditate in your leisure time, examining your actions, principles, and views, on which you behave. Cease from anger, and fury, against God's judgment. Subdue your corruptions, and it shall be reckoned, as a sacrifice of righteousness. Put your trust in Christ the Savior, in His righteousness, for our justification, in His blood for our pardon. The worldly minded men, will ask what good can the Lord do for us. But we have His presence, the comfort of His Spirit, the joys, of His Salvation, His loving favor, and true happiness. We have more to celebrate, than those at harvest time, or when the vintage, turns out well, for this time shall pass, but ours will remain, for all of time. Sleep is a vulnerable time, but the Lord, is our keeper, in safety, shall we lay down, and, in peace, shall we sleep, because, we are the Lord's, and in His eternal care. Hallelujah !
