With the BLM property at Little freezeout not being a sure thing anymore, the citizens of the county do not have enough options to shoot.
We have a skate park, swimming pool (kind of), golf course and an airport for folks to use. What we do not have is a year round dedicated gun range. Only a paid private range. We need a range that is free to the public. I would venture to say, at least 50% of the people in the county shoot firearms.
What we are trying to do is to get a fact finding committee going to look into funding. I vision this as not taking one penny from the tax payers. We will look at fundraising, grants and other ways to finance, build and maintain the facility.
I also would like to see a shooting club for youth as well as gun safety classes,and adults, like a pool league. Different types of competitions from quick draw to longer range shooting.
