For instance, I have written today a Python script which runs on my MacBook if I'd like to monitor the battery voltage. Every fifteen minutes it will speak the value to me.

In addition, I have several things plugged into power via a TP-Link and/or TAPO smartplug device. These devices have a programming interface so that you can also toggle them ON/OFF as you need to. You may combine this with any of the above Victron-related code to make things run for you.
