View MoreOBEY MY VOICE This is a reminder that God desires obedience from His people and that obedience is essential to experiencing His blessings. But this is what I commanded them, saying, Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you. Jeremiah 7:23 Jeremiah was a prophet who lived when the people of Israel had turned away from God and were living in rebellion. They worshiped idols and engaged in all sorts of sinful behavior. Jeremiah warned the people of the consequences of their disobedience and urged them to turn back to God. Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. Deuteronomy 28:1 God reminded His people of the commandments He had given them. He told them to obey His voice and walk in all the ways He had commanded. The following promise is of great importance: if they obey, He will be their God, and they will be His people, and it will be well with them. This promise reveals something about the nature of God. He is a God who desires a relationship with His people and wants to be their God and for them to be His people. This relationship is based on obedience, not just on following rules. It is about a heart that is submitted to Him and desires to please Him. This can be difficult for us to understand in our society today. Obedience is not a popular concept in our culture, as we value individualism and autonomy. We want to make choices and do what is best for us. But the commands God gives us are not meant to restrict us or hold us back. They are intended to guide us and protect us and are a reflection of His love for us. Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, And turn My hand against their adversaries. Psalm 81:13-14 When we obey God, we acknowledge He knows what is best for us. We recognize that He is the one who created us and has a plan for our lives. We submit our will to His and trust Him to lead us down the right path. This is a challenging thing to do. We are all prone to sin and to rebel; we are tempted to follow our desires instead of the plan God gave us. God knows what is best for us, and when we obey Him, we can experience His blessings and protection. Are you experiencing the blessings and protection of God in your life? Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you. Heavenly Father, I desire to be obedient to You in all my ways. I ask for Your guidance as You know what is best for me. I know as I obey You, I can experience Your blessings and protection. Thank You, Father. In Jesus name, Amen.
