But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
As disciples for Christ we have to be prepared to answer the hard questions. Reading the Bible is what prepares us to not turn people away from God but bring the truth to light. God put a spirit in us that knows the truth. When the truth is spoken it convicts the persons heart and soul. When we use God’s word and point them to the Bible. It is not your words but God’s word that is told. It can not be disputed. God’s word is the final word.
So when people ask questions tell that person
“Let’s see what the Bible says about that”. Go to the Bible and look it up. Use the internet to research the questions and look it up in the Bible to show the person questioning. We never want to change a single word of God. The Bible warns us of the punishment in doing so. Here are a few references.
Deuteronomy 4:2 “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take anything from it”(also Deuteronomy 12:32). The reason God is so adamant on this is because “The entirety of Your word is truth” (Psalms 119: 160).
"Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar" Proverbs 30:6.
When we point them to God it is done with gentleness and respect as told in this verse above. Amen.
May God bless you always.
