Every county CAD board of directors is appointed by the City , school , and county entities. A new law allows for three members to be elected by the citizens but only if the population is above 75,000. I suppose the thinking is people in less populated counties are not capable of deciding who can pick their pocket or not? There are currently 5 members on the board of directors in the Cad system. The problem is the CAD can vote to change this up to THIRTEEN members. It is like packing the Supreme court in my opinion. The argument used for the CAD system is that prior to its existence, each taxing entity set their own tax rates, etc. They say this was not equitable. What I say is not equitable is the ability of the taxing entities to appoint people sympathetic to their never ending lust for more tax dollars. The cities, schools and counties can blame the raising of our property values every year without fail on the CAD. In effect they run cover for those entities the citizens actually vote for. . Every CAD in the state of Texas should be abolished and the taxing entities made to account for raising our taxes by being voted out of office.

Meanwhile, our border is wide open. Our so called leaders have sold us out to the military industrial complex. More than enough to build and defend a wall on our southern border that would keep it secure many times over. Where is all that money going? Are politicians getting rich from it? You are not supposed to ask those question. How much of the military material is actually going where it is supposed to? There is no audit, and no accountability. We should be negotiating a peace not promoting more hostilities. Ukraine has now banned the Ukraine Orthodox church., and arrested priests. Does that sound like a democracy? Putin is a bad actor, but Zelensky is not the great champion of freedom he pretends to be in my opinion. The average citizens are the ones who suffer not the elite.
