The only foreign leader who’s been in Downing Street more than Zelensky this year is Barak Obama. Not that either of them is officially a leader any more. Zelensky ran out of road 18 months ago when his term expired. Obama has been a private citizen since 2016!
Either can secure an audience with not so busy Starmer at the drop of a hat it seems. Zelensky’s purpose is obvious- to shake us down for still more billions. Obama’s purpose, not so much.
At least three times this year - some reports say four - Obama has soft-shoe shuffled his way up Downing Street like he was walking onto a yacht as Carly Simon might say. Although his hat was not fixed below one eye he was surely not incognito. But how could we tell?
No statement was made by Obama or by Starmer about the purpose of these meetings. No record of what they discussed. They were secret meetings conducted in plain sight of a kind I don’t remember ever seeing before. They were “this meeting never happened” meetings.
Are they connected to possible legal proceedings reported to be imminent against Obama in DC over his role in the Russiagate hoax which wrecked Trump’s first term and which originated in London?
Is the crooner singing for his supper - as a new property owner in London - with Obama discussing political asylum like Karl Marx before him?
Is Obama operating as a kind of president-in-exile at the head of a Shadow Government of the USA? For what purpose?
Does Britain currently have an Ambassador to Washington following the regrettable lapse of nearly twenty years friendship with Jeffrey Epstein of the last man we sent there to lie abroad for his country? Who knows.
But if we do, if I was Donald Trump I’d be summoning him or her or other to the White House immediately to demand to know what Obama was up to? I’d want the agenda for the meetings and the minutes taken at them. There were minutes taken, prime minister, right?
After all just a hundred yards away in 1605 there was famously found gunpowder, treason and plot.
If I was Trump I’d want to know if Obama and a British prime minister were plotting to blow up my presidency. Again.
