A Sad Passing

Charles and Judy
Charles Edward Wheeling
(January 4, 1942 – June 19, 2023)
Judy Wheeling wishes to share the sad news of the passing of her husband, Charles.
Most of the friends and faithful supporters of this Ministry have known that Charles has, since from about 2016, been battling progressive Parkinson’s disease.
Recently, Charles was hospitalized for an unrelated abdominal pain. After ten days of hospitalization, he was released and brought home for continued care. The combination of the infection and the effects of Parkinson’s left him bedridden and in need of hospice care. Be sure that Charles received the very best attentive care, from medical professionals and family alike. Regrettably, though, his daily condition slowly, continually weakened.
Right up to the end, Charles conveyed his desire to find gentle peace in sleep and to await the resurrection morning. Judy would like you to know that he did not suffer in pain, and rested comfortably with his family at home—the home that he and Judy built with their own hands—where he remained until the end. Your faithful prayers are sought for the Lord to bless those of us who remain while Charles rests quietly awaiting that Last Trumpet.
Judy and daughter Stephanie request that there be “no calls at this time.” Gratitude cannot be expressed enough.
If you are receiving this notice, it is because you are important to the Ministry, and Judy would like you to know that Charles’s wish was always for the continuation of the work of Inspiration Books East. Under the leadership of Tony Harriman, and with the support of Judy and of a faithful staff, the ministry has gone forward during the years Charles has been battling this debilitating disease, and we intend to continue the work that Charles and so many people have sacrificed to bring about.
On the 30th of June this year Charles and Judy would have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Details regarding a Memorial for Charles will be shared as soon as arrangements can be made. Thank you for your prayers and patience.
Gifts in Lieu of flowers may be made to IBE and marked “Charles’s Memorial.” Charles lived to spread the printed page like the leaves of autumn and would have appreciated that.
Maranatha! The Lord is coming, and there is much to do before we leave, and before we see Charles again.
