The mascot should at least be an American animal, like the Kodiak Brown bear. As fas as I know, there are no native lions in North America. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people or changed who can see it, or it's been deleted.
But then of course donkeys are everywhere across the world and elephants arent native to America. Wholly Mammoths maybe but thats not the symbol used.
I like your idea for the animal. Besides, I believe the Brown bear would eat the lion for lunch, in a real setting!
