All while pleading for donations to “keep the truth alive” Financially, Wigington profits off his followers through donations, book sales, paid speaking engagements, and online store merchandise, which includes DVDs, “awareness” materials, and other conspiracy themed products. His fear-based marketing is designed to keep people hooked, constantly warning of impending environmental catastrophe caused by “covert government spraying programs” a crisis that, conveniently, never actually arrives. While he screams about secret sky experiments and government plots, he’s quietly pocketing donations, hawking merch, and selling apocalyptic DVDs.. all while preaching that the world is ending UNLESS you buy his book. One of the clearest give aways is the self admitted “for entertainment purposes only”, which is plastered all over the website in case the house of cards collapses. Perhaps the biggest irony of all is Wigington’s personal lifestyle choices. Despite claiming that areas like Mt. Shasta are being poisoned by “toxic chemtrail fallout,” he chose to build an extravagant off grid luxury home right there.. a place where he raises his own family. If he truly believed his own claims about dangerous toxins saturating the environment, why would he subject himself and his loved ones to it? The more likely explanation? He knows it’s nonsense but continues spreading fear because it keeps the money flowing. But hey, why let facts get in the way when fear pays the bills, right? Turns out, paranoia is profitable… and Dane’s laughing all the way to the bank while his followers foot the bill. At the end of the day, Wigington’s business model depends on keeping his followers convinced that they are in on a grand secret that the rest of the world refuses to see.
