Imagine if your pastor had the right to dictate all major facets of your life. Where to live, what job to get, and even who to marry. What I am describing to you is known as the Shepherding Movement and it is what we will be talking about today on IBNWThe Shepherding Movement, also known as the "Discipleship Movement," arose from the Charismatic movement in the 1970s, with roots in heavy shepherding practices. Beginning as "Christian Growth Ministries" in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, it peaked in the 1980s but has since declined in impact. Despite emphasizing New Testament principles like "one another" passages and mentoring relationships, it has faced significant criticism for its cult-like manipulation tactics and the unscriptural concept of a "spiritual covering."Purpose of the video: to explore its origins, development, key figures, controversies, and impacts we see today. Unlike some of my other examination videos where I take a neutral stand in the beginning and give my view at the end, I will come right out and say that the Shepherding Movement was and still is wrong and should never be allowed to resurface in anywayIf you want more information on this I highly encourage you to go to this YouTube Channel: @LeavingtheMessage
