To turn massive disappointment into massive excitement.The disappointment (and devastation) kids and adults have experienced as a result of getting kicked off of sports teams.The disappointment parents have experienced as a result of no longer being able to go to a swimming pool or hockey arena to watch their kids lessons.The disappointment individuals have experienced as a result of no longer being welcome in their local walking or running groups.The disappointment caregivers have experienced as a result of no longer being welcome to bring their child to a weekly play group.YES, IT'S APPALLING.YES, IT'S A DISGRACE.But f**k 'em.THE BEST IS YET TO COME.And we have the power to create it.Time to process the pain and USE IT AS FUEL to create a spark of excitement that will create the new. Just like our many valued businesses listed in the Aware + Awake Business Directory, we equally need NON-DISCRIMINATING SPORTS TEAMS + ACTIVITY GROUPS for kids, teenagers and adults.Sports and activity groups are a huge part of a community and we are most definitely building a new community.This is why the next initiative for TruthSeeker Times! is to create an island wide Aware + Awake Sports and Activity Directory. A directory that will be organized based on town and city, similar to the business directory.But first, we need various individuals to step up to the plate as coaches, activity coordinators etc, to help get new teams and groups organized in every town and city across Vancouver Island.Do you know how to throw and catch a baseball?Then you know how to teach young kids how to play the game.Were you a skilled soccer player in high school or college?Then you have everything you need to coach or referee a competitive team for teenagers or adults.Do you love to get people together for walking and talking on a beautiful spring morning or afternoon? Then how about starting a walking group in your town or city?Do you have a space in your home or a park in your area that could accommodate a weekly children's play group? Then send in your contact details to get a new group started.Whether it's a sports team such as baseball, soccer, field hockey or lawn bowling, OR, an activity group such as walking, running or a children's play group, every type of team and group is needed. ALL team games (with a few exceptions) can be accommodated in an outdoor public park. ALL group activities can be accommodated in private residences, public parks, private businesses etc.The discrimination we are experiencing all around us is part of a crumbling world.That is the old.WE ARE THE NEW.A new that will be even brighter than the old that is crumbling.On a final note,If you are feeling down as a result of so much uncertainty and change that is all around, or frustrated and overwhelmed with nowhere to put your energy; OR, on the opposite end of the spectrum and feeling inspired with new ideas, then NOW is the time to step up to the plate. By bringing people together and having a positive outlet for your energy, you will not only help uplift the spirit of those around you, but your own spirit as well. You are needed during this transitional time.
