To my right, a barrage of cloud to ground lightning was periodically illuminating the scene, but that wasn’t my goal to capture. The perfectly crisp and fresh updraft in a favorable environment and under a starry night sky is what drew my full attention. My excitement grew with every minute as the updrafts boiled and intensified with relentless energy.
