How the Lahaina fire started. No DEW beams, 🙄

#Repost///@samanthamasonmarikaa: Lahaina has been a matchbox waiting to happen for YEARS. The mismanagement of the land, the mismanagement of the water, HECO not shutting down the power lines during Hurricane winds, our emergency systems not going off, old historic wooden buildings, the lack of firemen and equipment, the ignoring locals and researchers who were warning for YEARS about this potentially happening, powerlines looking like this, invasive grass, and our local government’s INCOMPETENCE have all made way for this disaster. Lahaina is a strong community and I can guarantee that most of the people will not be selling their land (which they still own) for 15-minute cities to come in and be implemented.I’m all about conspiracies but there are way too many factual factors at play for why this happened. And I'm not going to lie to any of you guys about those factors because that would be a disservice to you. Also, keep in mind, we are a blue state, if they want to make us sustainable islands (which they have already been doing) they do not need to burn Lahaina down to do it. This is not the time to make merch about DEW or to say “I don’t care about Maui because it’s blue and they asked for this”. The things that I am witnessing coming from people who say they are for “the truth” is so disheartening. Please use your time and energy to pray and to help Maui in any way that you can right now. 1000 are still missing and thousands are displaced.
