This group is for anyone interested in the "golden age of piracy," (1600s-1700s America) to anywhere in the world piracy was practiced prior to the 1900s. It is to exchange artwork, history, living history sites, fun things going on today pertaining to pirate festivals, steam punk pirates, you name it. There is a lot misunderstood concerning pirates from our history, thanks to Hollywood and some novelists. One thing was for certain, pirates came from all walks of life - young and old, men and women, rich and poor, free and slave, experienced soldiers and mercenaries and people who have never held a weapon before. They also had many useful skills- carpenters, fishermen, net makers, sail makers, blacksmiths, farmers, seamen, you name it, they added their skills to their ship and crew and all lived by their captain's code. They had allegiance to no country only to the brethren.
So share information. Please no porn or insults. I will post a basic ship's code. Life is short. Enjoy it to the fullest!
