But when I was 10 years old and I watched Bambi over again I thought about the buck trophy mount my childhood friend’s dad had
Being a creative storyteller I came up with a theory to lessen the blow of that one infamous scene
Basically it was a very hard winter for not only the animals but the humans too and one mountain family was running low on rations so the dad had to shoot a deer or his kids and wife will go hungry
That makes Bambi’s mom not a loss for one child but a form of sacrifice to feed another’s children

I wrote this small essay that can be used in explaining to children parental rights and how its being attacked every day and how important it is to trust that icky feeling in your gut when something doesn’t make sense
The essay
If your mom and dad have this talk with you it’s probably because they love you lots and want you to know that you need to be smart especially around people who talk at you everyday now school is a very good thing an education will get you the best out of life but there’s bad info as much as good info that’s why you need to talk with your parents and get them involved in school projects if they don’t already have them look over your homework with you, go to open house together, and if your teacher says something weird even if she’s teaching it to the entire class tell your mom and dad teachers are paid to educate you acording to a thing called a “curriculum” again normally this is good but some ideas are forced in by fads , powerful people , or subcultures these are often harmful and make kids feel uneasy so don’t be afraid to be a snitch your mom and dad don’t rely on money to be there for you and love you always
