Ever felt Gods disappointment?
It might have been just a teaspoon of what God experiences but a teaspoon was more then enough for anyone to experience.
Its a sad heavy hearted feeling. On one part you have this empathy, to understand and share a little bit of how God feels (quenching the Spirit) and another part wants to rise up and encourage a change of heart. To alert and inform the people of God, and say God is not happy with whatever is going on here.
I have been reading Numbers 11 & 12 .
In chapter 11 starts off with, Now the people became like those who complain and whine about their hardships, and the LORD heard it; and when the LORD heard it, His anger was kindled, and the fire of the LORD burned among them and devoured those in the outlying parts of the camp. So the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the LORD, the fire died out. Numbers? ?11:1-2? ?AMP??
WoW! Watch what comes from your heart and mouth. From the contents of the heart the mouth speaks.
Next the Bible says
Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. Oh, for some meat! they exclaimed. We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted. But now our appetites are gone. All we ever see is this manna!
??Numbers? ?11:4-6? ?NLT?
The rabble where a mix small group of people, common people but further research found it to be a word to use in contempt. People deserving of scorn. The Spirit said to me... riffraff.
These people hung out with the people of Israel when they left Egypt. it was quite possible they were slaves as well and saw their opportunity to be free by going with the Israelites. They reaped the benefits of Gods blessing His people in the wilderness. Manna fell from the sky for Gods people and they took and ate the manna as well.
Here they were, literally getting free handouts and they started to complain which spread to Gods people.
This devouring fire did not stop the riffraff nor Gods people from complaining and weeping in self-pity...
This made God angry. This made the people a burden to a Moses, so God came down in a cloud and took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and put Him on the seventy elders and they prophesied (praising God and declaring His will).
God told Moses,
Say to the people, Consecrate (separate as holy) yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept [in self-pity] in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who will give us meat to eat? For we were well-off in Egypt. Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you shall eat. You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, but a whole monthuntil it comes out of your nostrils and is disgusting to youbecause you have rejected and despised the LORD who is among you, and have wept [in self-pity] before Him, saying, Why did we come out of Egypt? . Numbers? ?11:18-20? ?AMP??
But when the meat came in the form of quail, three feet deep the Bible says ... I did not read one word of thankfulness towards God. Just that they were gathering up all this meat... more then they needed to sustain them for the day. Greed had over taken them.
Then the Bible says, While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD struck them with a very severe plague. So that place was named Kibroth-hattaavah (the graves of greediness), because there they buried the people who had been greedy.
??Numbers? ?11:33-34
5. things
1. Reverence God.
2. We need to consider that we are travelers passing through in the Wilderness dependent upon God. Forget the past. It is the past.
3. We set the example as Christians. Do not follow the example of those in this world and complain when God has promised to take care of us. Watch what comes from your heart and mouth.
4. Do not be greedy for the things of this world and ungrateful for the things God has provided. Be thankful.
5. Listen to what the Spirit is saying.
6. Allow the Spirit to encourage you, to help you, to help others and to be an encouragement to others.

Being thankful for the pain?
I have a friend (I say it this way on purpose) who passed away from a rare form of cancer some years ago. One of the things they said before passing was they wouldnt had taken this experience away for it made them stronger in their faith. They experienced Jesus in a more intimate way and saw his provisions and mercies in their life as they went through the day to day experiences. Surgery after surgery, from walking and standing, to sitting in a chair and then to a bed... home to just a hospital room. Hope wasnt just a word but became tangible as holding someones hand. They held onto the Goodness of God. Through pain, they were prepared to meet Jesus the source of Life it self.
They were not swallowed by the storm. Emotions were restrained to the constructive not the destructive, thanks to the peace that only God can give.
Romans 5:3-5 says
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Gods love is poured out in our hearts through the experiences of pain and suffering.
How true is that. We pour out our hearts before the Lord and He comforts us in some unexplainable ways. He reminds us of life giving verses in the word of God. No wonder why John called Jesus the word of God that had become flesh. And now through the Spirit of God , Jesus is made tangible in various ways to us as we look to Him the author and finisher of our faith.
I remember the one request my friend asked Jesus when they found out they had this kind of cancer that would eventually take their body... It was Jesus just hold my hand. And it was evident by their attitude that indeed He was holding their hand. This simple request has stayed with me ever sense and I use it when I am feeling overwhelmed. I say Jesus hold my hand.
Pain either physically and emotionally or both can drive us to God and grow a deeper relationship with Him. That is all that matters in the end.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
Those who give generously receive more, but those who are stingy with what is appropriate will grow needy.

??Proverbs? ?11:24? ?
We can read such a verse and almost automatically assumed the verse has to do solely with money and possessions but the Spirit tells us to look again.
What do you possess, which is more important then anything the world may offer? What do you possess that you can give?
1. Your time might be one. We give our time to people, loved ones, God..
2. Another thing we have is Gods love. We come to know Gods love by spending time with Him. Relying upon Him in the challenges and trials of life. We can share that love with others.
3. The words from God. God has bestowed upon you and I a treasury of wisdom and knowledge. We can share that treasury with others to encourage and enrich others lives as well.

Godly knowledge is important, in fact God says in the book of Hosea.
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge..... Noted Hosea 4:6
Such knowledge is more important then worldly wealth.
As Jesus pointed out in Revelation 3 to the church of Laodica?
You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
??Revelation? ?3:17-18? ?NIV??
Jesus also says, Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
??Matthew? ?6:33? ?NLT??
(Psalm 19:10 says Gods decrees are more precious then pure gold. They are sweeter then honey.
Gods word says,
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12
I see Gods word as a fire. Jeremiah 20 spoke of the word as such.
A fire that burns away all pretense and falsehood revealing what is true, remarkable, base, rebuking ignorance, breaking strongholds, healing and an igniting fire in our soul. It just grows and grows bringing more enlightenment and revelation to the discerning.
We share with mercy and grace and no judgement... just one beggar sharing with another beggar where there is some good bread. We share, knowing God will reveal more of his knowledge and wisdom.
Luke 6:38 says, Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
And if sharing in love wasnt enough, we even share the word under obligation. Where we feel we are morally and legally bound. God is telling us to warn others in love.
If I warn the wicked, saying, You are under the penalty of death, but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.
??Ezekiel? ?3:18-19? ?NLT??
Gods words rightly spoken and rightly lived do as proverbs 24:3-4 speaks of.
Through [skillful and godly] wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge its rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.
But Jesus does have this warning, Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:6
Have discernment on who you are sharing with.
Gods word warns us and reminds us to stay vigilant and have reverence towards God.
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
??Revelation? ?1:7? ?NIV??
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Fathers glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
??Matthew? ?16:27? ?NIV??
Psalm 103:13
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
