If needed, the F/A-18s flown by the Blue Angels can be repainted and returned to combat duty aboard an aircraft carrier within 72 hours. In 1950, Blue Angel pilots volunteered for combat in Korea and were assigned to VF-191 "Satan's Kittens" but they were given new planes.
