Released in 1956, Little Papa Joe began his solo career with "Looking For My Baby" / "Easy Lovin' ". Little Papa Joe is actually Blues guitarist / vocalist and highly sought after Chicago session guitarist, Joseph "Jody" Leon Williams.
Williams was born Feb 3, 1935 was an influential figure in the 1950's Blues scene and was one of the most sought after guitarists in the Chicago area.
Williams' guitar playing was most notably marked by string bending, imaginative chord changes and overall quality of tone.
However, he'd found his distinctive style often being copied, for which Williams had received neither credit nor compensation.
Founded in 1954, Blue Lake Records was a Chicago based record label founded by disc jockey Al Benson. Blue Lake was a subsidiary of Parrot Records. Both labels specialized in Blues, Doo-wop, Jazz, and Gospel, and operated from 1953 - 1956.
