2. Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,3. And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?4. Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which you do hear and see:5. The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.6. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Matthew 11:2-6 ?? John, the Baptist, Jesus's cousin, sends two disciples, not because of his own doubt, but because of theirs. John is preparing to depart, from the earth, and is preparing his followers, for his departure. Jesus, shows the men, that the spiritually blind, now see, those who could not walk in righteousness, are now able, those covered in the decay of sin, are now clean, those deaf to God, now hear His voice, those who were dead in sin, are now given eternal life, and the poor in spirit, have the riches of the Gospel, preached to them. And all who receive Christ, shall surely be blessed. These two will go back to John's disciples, and with their witness, convert them to Christ. My friends, there is nowhere else to look for a Savior, but in Christ, the Lord, all the blessings of God, are contained in His words, "Come follow me." Amen.
