Rep. Jeff Crank’s resolution condemning socialism passes House By Caitlyn Kim
· Sep. 1, 2026, The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Colorado Springs-area Republican Rep. Jeff Crank’s non-binding resolution “ condemning socialism in all its forms,” including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
It passed 220-192, with two members voting present. Colorado Republicans all voted for it, while the state’s Democrats voted against it.
The DSA is a socialist political group that has gained ground in recent elections.
“This resolution simply condemns socialism and anti-American ideas of the DSA,” Crank said during the floor debate. “The Democrat Socialists of America was a fringe movement a decade ago. Now they're growing within the Democrat ranks, winning primaries and threatening the foundation of what makes this country the greatest on Earth.” https://www.cpr.org/2026/09/01/jeff-crank-anti-socialism-resolution-passes/
