This is a tale of two entities. One is a branch of local government, and the other is a home owner.
The local county government, charges home owner taxes, and then uses those taxes to buy expensive machinery to maintain their edges of the road. They also own install signs to warn people that the home owner has a blind driveway and to use caution. That local county government also, decides that safety doesn’t matter and sets the speed limit of that road to 55 mph. They then also hire a worker to run that expensive machinery with fancy boom mowers to go and maintain the edge of the county road. Then that said worker, who is probably over paid, comes thru and cut a 3 foot pass along the side of that county road. Something that could be done with a John Deere 140, but no they need the really expensive equipment just to cut that path. Not carrying about the home owner with blind driveway in a turn where dump trucks and tractor trailers are doing 55 mph.
Now there is the home owner, who pays his extremely high taxes, always on time, doesn’t agree with it, but still sucks it up and pays. They contact the county about said safety concern, and hopes that they will start cutting back the grass further up the hill so traffic and property owner can see each other sooner and avoid any accidents. But as usual in this state, nobody cares about safety, they just want your tax money to do other stupid crap, like oiling and stoning a road that was just replaced last year and wasting that tax money that you have to keep sending them.
So the home owner has to take his Stihl weed eater and traverse the hill and cut back all the weeds so him and his wife can have some kind of safety when leaving the driveway since most of the locals don’t care, and don’t slow down or even have the decency to move over when passing by. It’s a sad day when a 46 year old disabled veteran has to maintain the side of the road, when they pay taxes and the county has the ability to do it from the seat of a tractor.

What I see is a government that takes your money and gives little back for the upkeep and a property owner who will pay fines until they comply with the government on what their definition of "upkeep" is for the property it doesn't supposedly own.
