When she was finally found, she had multiple broken bones, burns, and scars covering her body. She weighed just 27 pounds. Police had been called to that house 50 times. The women responsible had been arrested 10 times previously. This level of systemic failure — where a child can be slowly tortured to death while authorities do nothing — is unacceptable in any civilized society. Dominique’s horrific death must force real change. No more excuses. No more revolving-door justice. Children deserve protection.
