This is where the lone star tick is commonly found. Apparently the word “distribution” was causing the wrong interpretation. If you live or travel in this area and you give your dog Bravecto for tick control just be aware that for this tick it is only effective for 2 months not 3. The question is what do you do for that third month? I asked Dr Greer during a webinar at Revival Animal Health who was highly recommending Bravecto and was just told to ask my own vet.
This tick is most often associated with the Alpha Gal syndrome which makes life difficult or possibly deadly for those who develop the allergy. Life will never be the same.
