Post from Jack Payne -
Fattest cows we sell every year come off that cheatgrass country around Winnamucca, Nevada. Yet our Federal government is spending $millions of your tax dollars spraying public land trying to kill cheatgrass because it's non-native. Could it be possible that they are trying to kill the forage our cattle rely on? Is spraying cheatgrass part of the big agenda to remove livestock grazing from public land? Is spraying herbicides on our grazing allotments another tool in their toolbox 🧰 like wolves, data centers, solar farms, feral horses etc?
Ranching in the west is dieing a death by 1000 cuts, killing cheatgrass is just another cut. Their argument is that cheatgrass competes with native species, so they come in and kill 100s of thousands of acres, leaving it bare as the moon, ripe for massive erosion from Nevada's well known flash floods.
Let's turn cheatgrass into American beef and American tax revenue instead of blowing millions of tax dollars on herbicides that contaminate our soils, livestock, wildlife and citizens
