I was notified by Ethosenergy that the Sugar Creek Wind Development will have cleaning crews coming to clean four turbines within the next couple months. Dean, with Ethosenergy also stated that he did a self compliance on the worst turbine. That being the one at 1315 350th Ave. The Environmental Protection Agency did a soil check and he said, to his suprise, there was no contamination. This is definitely good news! Although I will be doing a foia on the EPA soil testing due to the fact that they showed up soon after I filed a complaint. If you remember correctly, the last time I filed a complaint 2 years ago on a different wind turbine. The EPA showed up on the day they were going to clean the one I was concerned with. 🤷
** Update since post was written**
Sugar Creek has contacted me this morning by text message stating that I must have misunderstood what was said regarding the soil being tested. They informed me that another turbine a couple years ago had the surrounding soil tested not the one of my concern. I guess I definitely need to figure out what happened to my complaint with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. He also updated that the cleaning crews are on site and he will get me pictures of the cleaning process. A picture of the text will be pinned in the comments.
