New: JB Pritzker’s SAFE-T act has just forced the release of this financial scammer who attempted to scam $69,000 out of an individual in LaSalle Co. The victim in Paw Paw is already out $40,000 and this guy is loose… thank you Democrats! The Lee County sheriffs department released the following: “On Sunday April 26th, Lee County Deputies were made aware of a financial scam that was occurring in the Village of Paw Paw. Deputies were informed that an individual was contacted and told that their Apple account was “hacked.” That individual was then transferred to an “FBI Agent” that told the individual they needed to pay money to capture who was hacking into the account. The individual in Paw Paw agreed to provide $40,000 to the unknown individual. An unknown individual picked up $40,000 on April 17th from an address in Paw Paw. The “FBI Agent” contacted the individual once more requesting additional funds in the amount of $28,500. On April 27th, members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office organized a time for the unknown individual to pick up the $28,500 in cash. As a result of the operation, 22-year-old Parth C. Patel of Chicago, Illinois was taken into custody and was charged with the following: · Theft by Deception ($10,000 to $100,000), a Class 2 Felony · Attempted Theft by Deception ($10,000 to $100,000), a Class 3 Felony Parth Patel was taken to the Lee County Jail where he was held pending his first appearance. On April 28th, he was released from the Lee County Jail pursuant to the Illinois SAFE-T Act and given a court date of May 21st” Couple of thoughts: - Awesome Work by the Lee County sheriffs department for arresting this criminal from Chicago who preying on people robbing them of their life savings… -This guy was released under the SAFE-T act, and will be free to commit these financial crimes again. It could be your parents, your grandparents who could be the next victim.
