Awful! Get ready to pay more for power as power plants leaving Illinois! The Illinois Democrat Climate & Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), signed by JB Pritzker, is forcing energy produced in Illinois to be ship out of state. The result, huge electric rate hikes ahead....and Democrats are refusing to change it. CEJA allows electricity produced here to benefit other states and countries.Illinois Energy producers are packing up and leaving the state of Illinois. Last week, a power plant owner literally extracted six turbines from a large natural gas-fired plant in Will County and loaded them on flatbed trucks and shipped them to Texas, all thanks to this Democrat law. More energy companies are expected to leave Illinois in the near future due to CEJA.These turbines generate up to 900 megawatts! This power now gone from Illinois due to Democrat "green" legislation.Energy bills in Illinois are expected to soar, unless hundreds of thousands of acres of Illinois farmland can be quickly converted to solar fields.According to the Chicago Tribune, Illinois largest (and one of the nation's largest) gas-fired “peaking” plants, Elwood Energy, is pulling out because of terms in the Democrat law requires the facility to be shuttered by 2030.A Chicago Tribune Editorial recommends that amendments be made to CEJA to "quickly to close the loophole allowing electricity generated here to benefit people and businesses elsewhere"https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/04/26/editorial-springfield-electricity-natural-gas-peakers-power-plants-ceja/
