“I get that we need green energy and a cleaner grid.”
We don’t actually need anything in Upstate NY. Upstate NY has one of the cleanest grids IN THE ENTIRE US! Hydropower and nuclear is why.
Massive facilities like the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant and the St. Lawrence–Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project generate huge amounts of steady, zero-emission electricity. These plants run 24/7, unlike intermittent sources like solar and wind.
And then there’s nuclear, which is doing even more than people realize. Facilities like Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, and R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant provide constant baseload power and zero direct carbon emissions.
They comprise a huge percentage of total Upstate NY generation.
No, instead the vile politicians of this state are using us and our towns as pawns in a wealth and land transfer game. They're convincing landowners to hand over land that their family has owned since the Revolutionary War to foreign corporations.
Why? It's all for money! Just ask Senator Pete Harckham, NYS Senator Rachel May, and Michelle Hinchey today! I am sure they'd love to show you their books.
They're bleeding us dry for NYC, green energy lobbying money, and back door deals with foreign countries.
Why don't you give one of those senators a call today and ask if you can review who they accept lobbying money from? It sure wouldn't look good if that money is coming from foreign countries, huh?
Here's a script you can call with or email:
“Hi, I’m calling about energy policy and campaign transparency. I’ve reviewed filings on the New York State Board of Elections, but I’d like a clear explanation: how much funding have you received from energy and renewable companies, and how does that relate to your policy positions? How much of that money has come from foreign corporations? I’m looking for a direct answer because this matters for public trust. Thank you.”
Rachel May's #: 315-478-8745
Pete Harckham's #: 914-241-4600
Michelle Hinchey's #: 845-331-3810
It's their job as elected officials of this state to serve the PEOPLE. Most in Albany have forgotten that fact. It's easy to forget it when they sponsor legislation that crushes home rule.
These people despise rural New York and the "country bumpkins" standing in the way of their kickbacks.
