Our Battle Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Satan would like to stop the work of God. Satan would like to stop us. He tried to stop the work of God through Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:1-11). We are told to be sober and vigilant in our minds and actions towards his work and whereabouts. He does not knock on the door of our house introducing himself and what he is about to do. He is still “more subtil than any beast of the field” (Genesis 3:1). We must take his presence in our world and his intentions seriously and soberly. We must arm ourselves with spiritual weapons. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”. Satan is real. The truth that he has an army of demonic powers is very real. We must recognize his existence and daily ready ourselves for our battle with him.
