#new Democrats are enraged over losing three aircraft to save the life of an American - but are okay with losing $8 billion in equipment to the Taliban, & sending $1.7 billion on pallets of cash to Iran
#iran
In what's being described as one of the most dangerous and high-risk behind-enemy-lines missions in recent U.S. history, American special operations forces rescued an Air Force colonel from the mountains in Iran early this morning,
President Trump announced the rescue with the words “WE GOT HIM!” saying the colonel was injured but was safe, and sound.
During the rescue operation, the U.S. lost:
1 F-15E Strike Eagle (replacement cost from about $31 million to nearly $100 million for newer ones)
2 C-130/MC-130J transport planes (each valued at about $100 million)
So to save the life of a respected Colonel - the US sacrificed about $250-$300 million in equipment
Democrats including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries immediately criticized Trump for a “reckless and costly war” with no clear plan or exit strategy, while continuing to complain about the costs.
However critics point out that Democrats gave billions in US equipment to the Taliban, without blinking an eye

The Department of Defense reported $7.12 billion in equipment was left in the country during Biden's hasty withdrawal in August 2021.
This included thousands of vehicles (such as Humvees), aircraft, munitions, communications gear, night-vision devices, cash, and more than 300,000 weapons.
Republicans have repeatedly called it a strategic and moral failure saying, Biden’s Afghanistan exit reversed 20 years of investment, equipped the Taliban, and emboldened enemies without a single Democrat demanding the same level of scrutiny now applied to rescue mission costs.
In addition, Republicans point out that Democrats were on board with Barack Obama in 2016, when he sent the t*rrorist regime in Iran $1.7 billion in physical cash, loaded onto wooden pallets and flown in unmarked cargo planes.

Critics, including senators like Tom Cotton, pointed out that delivering untraceable cash to the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism was reckless. They said the money helped fund the Iranian military, the IRGC, or proxy groups.
