He hiked up a 7,000-foot mountain ridgeline on wounded legs. He found a crevice in the rock and crawled inside. He had one weapon. A single handgun. That was it. Between him and capture.Iranian forces were searching. Getting closer by the hour. The whole country was being told to look for him. To turn him in.But he was never truly alone.Back home, the CIA launched a secret deception campaign inside Iran. They spread false information that he had already been found.
