📖 John 18:40 “Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.” That crowd made a choice. It was not a quiet decision. It was not confusion. It was not ignorance.“They all cried again…” 👉 It was loud. 👉 It was united. 👉 It was deliberate.They stood face to face with truth—the Lord Jesus Christ—and still chose a criminal.Why? 📖 John 3:19 “…men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” They did not choose Barabbas because he was good. They chose him because Christ exposed them. The Same Crowd Still Exists The names have changed. The streets have changed. The technology has changed.But the crowd has not. Today, the world still cries: 👉 Not this man… give us what we want. 👉 Not holiness… give us comfort. 👉 Not truth… give us something easier. 📖 2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…”We are not heading into that time. 👉 We are in it.Truth Is Still Rejected Jesus did not lose a vote that day.He was rejected on purpose. 📖 Isaiah 53:3 “He is despised and rejected of men…”And He still is. People do not stumble into rejecting Christ. 👉 They choose it. 👉 They defend it. 👉 They justify it.Just like that crowd -- Barabbas or Christ. Barabbas represents: rebellion - sin - self-will, which is what man wants. Christ represents:truth - righteousness - authority, which is what God requiresThe crowd chose what pleased them over what was right.And the world is still doing the same.This Is Personal - It is easy to condemn that crowd.But Scripture turns it back on you: 📖 Joshua 24:15 “…choose you this day whom ye will serve…”You are making the same choice. Not once. But daily. 👉 Every time truth confronts you 👉 Every time Scripture corrects you 👉 Every time conviction comesYou either choose Christ … or you choose Barabbas.Final Warning The crowd was wrong then. The crowd is still wrong now. 📖 Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”Do not follow the crowd.They are loud—but they are lost.Final QuestionThe crowd has already made their choice. 👉 What are you choosing?
