He Is Acquainted With Grief
Isaiah 53:3
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
Isaiah’s prophecy in Isaiah 53 is a vivid picture painted with words of the sufferings of Jesus Christ. The detail captures one’s attention and makes me think He did this all just for me.
Today I am thinking about the truth in
our verse that says Jesus Christ is acquainted with our grief. The word “acquainted” simply means to know. Jesus Christ knows all about our own grief, sorrow, pain and suffering.
He has walked the way of great suffering.
He has felt the pains of rejection.
He has more than earned the right to walk with us, and lead us through our own journey of grief.
He walked the way of grief all alone so we would never have to walk that way alone.
When grief comes into our heart, we can rest our faith in the truth that He is with us. He is acquainted with the grief we are experiencing. He is here to comfort us.
