Resting In His Strength
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
The Apostle Paul found out that there were many things that could weaken him but only One who could give him the strength he needed for the journey. It can be very good for a Christian to recognize and say, “God, I can’t.” For when one comes to that place, they then and only then, will rest their faith in Jesus Christ for strength to carry on. God’s grace for the journey is always sufficient to carry us where God wants us to be. The word “sufficient” actually means enough to strengthen us or enough to satisfy. The grace of Jesus Christ is more than enough to strengthen us for the journey ahead.
Paul was weak from his many infirmities but he could rest his faith in the promise of Jesus Christ that His grace would be the strength to carry him through. Christian friend take courage, that no matter what you will have to go through in life, you can rest your faith in the grace of Jesus Christ. He will strengthen you for the journey ahead.
